Champion Clubs starts this year slightly later than usual, in order to avoid the icy weather.

So the first outing is Milton Keynes Sailing Club on the 15th March, with Emberton next on the 19th April. The format is the same as in previous years. All children between 9 and 18 are welcome, but if you are a competent sailor at age 8 or less, then please come along too.

The requirement is that you can sail a triangular course unaided and can capsize and right your boat. It helps if you can rig and launch your boat too.

Parents are welcome to stay and help out or leave children if you want to, providing you fill in and sign a parental declaration form (similar to schools forms).

We start at 9:30am with boat rigging and finish at 4:00pm Lunches are provided for a small sum by Marie or you can bring your own.

The focus of the traoining is on sail racing, with training in the morning and a couple of short races in the afternoon. If you do not have your own boat then speak to the Bosun about borrowing a boat from the club or you can contact the person on the programme and see if they have any boats you can borrow from the host club.
