Infact, any dinghy with a Portsmouth
Yardstick of 1000 or above can be sailed on Heron Lake.
The lower the PY, the faster the dinghy. The PY of a dinghy is used
as a handicap when calculating results in a mixed class race. |
EPSC has a secure compound where
members can keep their boats and a separate storage area for road
trailers.
Two slipways and a jetty provide excellent launching facilities. |

| A full
racing programme continues throughout the year with Sunday being
the main racing day. Wednesday evening races run from April to September,
with food and social activities afterwards. Open meetings in which
members of other clubs compete are held at Emberton Park and members
of EPSC frequently represent the Club at opens at other clubs, with
many successes.
Members can use the lake (except
for when racing is taking place) and clubhouse at any time. Saturday
afternoon is particularly popular with beginners.

sailing programme, the club has a very full social calendar. Events
include quiz evenings, BBQ's, visits to the Dingy Show, Christmas
parties for adults and for children. Wednesday evenings are a social
as well as a racing event, with games and competitions taking place
to help members wind down after the racing! Take a look at

welcomes beginners. The Club runs a beginners' course each Spring.
Training continues throughout the year with special sessions for
junior members and fleet-based training days. Novices can also try
their hand at crewing for the more experienced sailors in the club
- a great way to learn.
